Message From Stoney
We are so excited to be living in our Anderson Forever Home! We moved in a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, and we couldn’t be happier with our new home. Ellen and I designed our house 4 years ago. We waited about 2.5 years before we moved forward with breaking ground.
As we began construction of the project, Ellen became increasingly worried that our needs for our home had hanged. Ultimately, we trusted our initial instincts, as well as the experts we hired to design our house. After living in our home for a month, we both agree that it’s the perfect space for our family.
The architects at Brickmoon Design were instrumental in helping us draw plans that were then constructed by Anderson Homes into a beautiful and functional space. Brickmoon listened to our wishes and needs and how we wanted to live as a family. At Thanksgiving, we put our home to the test by hosting 23 family members for Thanksgiving lunch. Our paces functioned exactly as we hoped and there were lots of compliments on the home from our family.
I am so glad that we decided to hire a residential architect to design our home. We got most of the things on our wish list, in a space we could live in, at a budget that we could achieve. Anderson Homes also played a huge role in creating a home that we love. Anderson Homes surpasses the industry standard in our area with our use of a Building Science consultant and spec’ing out the Huber Wood Zip-R System sheathing. Zip-R allows Anderson Homes to create a sealed envelope, making our house highly efficient, healthier, and more comfortable to live in. Our building science consultant, TONER Home Matters, helped Anderson Homes figure out the intricate details necessary to achieve a high performance house, in a high end, one off, custom home. Combined, we now have a home that will save us more money in operating and maintenance costs the longer we live there.
As a client working with Anderson Homes to build our home, Ellen and I definitely experienced some inevitable frustrations that occur when manufacturing a product, in an uncontrolled environment, with a million variables, and an ever changing scope of work (Yes, even I’m guilty of this!). However, the systems and procedures that Anderson Homes has in place to mitigate these frustrations help minimize the stress created by taking on such a large project. Our family will forever be grateful to our design and construction teams for making it possible for us to live in our #AndersonForeverHome.
